Description
This one-hour class addresses issues for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals living in licensed residential care facilities, including regulations regarding training and rights, defining key terms, LGBT rights history, common situations for LGBT individuals in residential care, and preparing your facility to welcome LGBT residents.
Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Explain the CCLD regulations pertaining to LGBT diversity training for ARF and RCFE administrators
- Define key terms related to LGBT topics
- Briefly overview a recent history of LGBT rights in the United States
- Apply the regulations protecting residents’ rights to common scenarios in the lives of residents
- Make practical changes to a facility’s policies and practices to accommodate the unique needs of LGBT residents and to provide a welcome and respectful environment.
