Description
This online course provides 4 hours of medication training based on the core of knowledge outlined in the new law. This course must be passed with 90% or better. It does not include the Shadowing requirement as set forth in AB 2609.
Objectives
By the end of this course learners will be able to:
- State waht unlicensed staff can and cannot do to assist residents with medications
- Recognize the desired of a resident's medications
- Demonstrate the procedure for assisting residents with medications
- Compare prescriptions and medication lables to ensure the resident's medication is what the physician ordered
- Complete documentation for storaging, assisting, and destroying residents' medication
- Describe the process for ordering, receiving medicatioin from the pharmacy
